DA VINCI® PYELOPLASTY
Urinary Reconstruction Surgery
Pyloplasty surgery effectively removes urinary obstruction, or something that is stopping urine flow. When your doctor performs this surgery, they remove the blockage and then re-attach the healthy part of your kidney to the ureter, a tube that urine flows through from the kidneys to the bladder. Urinary reconstruction surgery can be performed in two ways:
• Open surgery with one large incision
• Minimally invasive surgery using laparoscopy or da Vinci surgery.
Why da Vinci Surgery?
The advantage of da Vinci surgery is that the surgeon is able to complete the surgery through a few small incisions rather than one large incision. This is a robotic-assisted surgical device for urinary reconstruction that the surgeon is able to control completely. The da Vinci System gives:
- A 3D view inside the body
- Instruments that can bend and rotate further than the human hand
- Enhanced vision, precision, and control
