UROLIFT® SYSTEM
What is the UroLift® System?
Benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH, is a common part of the aging process for some men. An enlarged prostate gland can squeeze or partially block the urethra, which can cause issues with urination. The UroLift System treats BPH by lifting the enlarged tissue up and out of the way so that it is no longer blocking the urethra.
This is a minimally invasive treatment and does not involve cutting, heating, or removal of prostate tissue. Clinical data has shown that treatment with the UroLift System is both safe and effective in relieving lower urinary tract symptoms without compromising sexual function.1,2,3
For more information about the UroLift System for BPH, ask your doctor or visit our frequently asked questions page.
How Does UroLift Work?
Treatment with the UroLift System is performed by a urologist and is unique because it does not destroy tissue, unlike other treatment options. Small implants are placed to hold prostate lobes apart in order to relieve the compression on the urethra. Since the urethra is being held open, urine is able to flow normally once again. Treatment can take place in-office under local anesthesia and most patients are able to return home the same day without a catheter.1,2,3
